Cracking Down on Terror: Military Uncovers Arms Cache, Raids Forest Enclave Along Omoku-Ndoni Axis

Security forces in Rivers State have dealt a heavy blow to criminal networks operating within the region. In a precise, intelligence-led operation, troops of the Nigerian Army have successfully raided a major criminal hideout, recovering a substantial cache of arms and ammunition.

Inside the Operation: Striking the Omoku-Ndoni Axis

According to official statements released by the military, the operation was executed by troops of Sector 4, Joint Task Force South-East, Operation UDO KA.

Acting on actionable, high-grade intelligence, security personnel stormed a heavily forested enclave stretching across the Awara Community Waterside (bordering Ohaji/Egbema) and deep along the critical Omoku–Ogbaku–Ndoni axis.

Intelligence reports had previously flagged the isolated forest camp as a primary staging base where criminal syndicates mapped out kidnapping operations and coordinated attacks against both innocent civilians and security personnel.

The Harvest: Weapons Recovered

Facing the rapid and aggressive advancement of the troops, the suspected outlaws abandoned their stronghold. A thorough sweep and clearance of the camp yielded dangerous military-grade hardware and live rounds:

 1 Lee-Enfield MK I Rifle

 1 G3 Rifle

116 rounds of 5.56mm

ammunition

 13 rounds of 7.62mm

ammunition

A Pattern of Success Against Syndicate Networks

Military authorities noted that this successful sweep marks the fourth major seizure of illegal arms and ammunition executed by troops in the wider region within a span of just two weeks.

While clearance operations remain actively underway to hunt down fleeing suspects and completely sanitize the area, the Army has reiterated its uncompromising stance against criminal elements threatening the peace of Rivers State. Security chiefs continue to call on local residents and community leaders to feed security agencies with timely, credible information to keep our neighborhoods safe.
