There is renewed momentum at the Emohua Local Government Area secretariat as the Chairman, Dr. Chidi Lloyd, has issued a final directive to the Works Department to fast-track the completion of the new Legislative Council Complex.
Following a site inspection earlier this week, Dr. Lloyd expressed satisfaction with the progress made thus far but emphasized the need for urgency to ensure the facility is fully operational for the incoming legislative sessions.
Key Highlights
Target Deadline: The Chairman has mandated that all remaining finishing works be completed in time for a formal commissioning ceremony scheduled to take place before the end of the second week of July 2026.
Infrastructure Commitment: The project is part of a broader vision by the current administration to modernize administrative infrastructure and create a more conducive working environment for local government legislators.
Legislative Efficiency: Once completed, the new complex is expected to house upgraded chambers, committee rooms, and administrative offices, providing a streamlined environment for the formulation of bylaws and local governance policies.
"We are entering the final lap," Dr. Lloyd stated during his visit to the site. "Our focus now is on quality control and meeting our target timeline to ensure that our legislative arm has a world-class facility to carry out their duties to the people of Emohua."
As the deadline approaches, residents and community stakeholders are watching closely, anticipating the official opening which promises to be a milestone in the current administration’s infrastructure drive.
