Police in Port Harcourt have arrested five suspects in connection with a phone theft after a distress call from a resident of the Federal Housing Estate Trans-Amadi. The victim reported her phone stolen by occupants of a green Volkswagen Vento (registration number ANAMBRA FGG 40 AA) on January 28, 2025.
The Surveillance Patrol Team from the Hyper City Unit intercepted the vehicle along NLNG Road Eastern Bypass and arrested the following individuals: Ifeanyi Ugo (45), Paulina Ibe (45), Nneka Precious Sunday (30), Christopher Ibe (31), and Oyinyechi Ibe (48).
Police recovered the vehicle and are conducting preliminary investigations. Police Public Relations Officer SP Grace Iringe-Koko reiterated the Command's commitment to combating "One Chance" criminals operating in the area. Further updates will be provided as the investigation progresses.
