RIVCHPP Steps Up Fight Against Fraud: Commences Intesive Staff Capacity Training in Port Harcourt

In a major move to safeguard public resources and enhance transparency, the Rivers State Contributory Health Protection Programme (RIVCHPP) has officially launched a comprehensive training initiative for its staff and team members.

The training program is specifically engineered to strengthen the agency's institutional capacity, completely eliminating fraud, resource waste, and administrative abuse across its operational units.

Declaring the session open over the weekend in Port Harcourt, the Executive Secretary and Chief Executive Officer of RIVCHPP, Dr. Vetty Agala, emphasized that the agency is deliberately investing in building a highly skilled workforce capable of protecting public healthcare funds.

"This initiative is designed to equip our staff with the precise knowledge and skills required to detect, prevent, and curb leakages," Dr. Agala stated. She further stressed the critical importance of prudent management regarding time, materials, and finances, adding that effective resource management directly translates to better, more affordable healthcare delivery for the residents of Rivers State.

Blocking the Leakages to Expand Healthcare Access

Also speaking at the event, the training facilitator and member of the RIVCHPP Governing Board, Dr. Mangibo Daniel, noted that organizations nationwide frequently lose critical percentages of their operational budgets to unchecked waste and administrative loopholes. He highlighted that this training is incredibly timely as RIVCHPP aggressively scales up its coverage targets across the state.

According to Dr. Daniel, because RIVCHPP operates as a social health insurance agency, every single Naira saved by eliminating institutional fraud and waste will be immediately redirected toward expanding healthcare coverage for vulnerable populations and providing more residents with access to the state's health insurance packages.

Staff Commit to Transparency

Responding on behalf of the participating staff, Pharm. Bona Vopnu expressed deep appreciation to the leadership of RIVCHPP for prioritizing human capacity development. He assured the management team that the staff would fully implement the newly acquired strategies to ensure maximum transparency, accountability, and operational efficiency in their daily duties.

With this new anti-fraud and transparency push, RIVCHPP continues to solidify its reputation as one of the most proactive and rapidly improving social health insurance agencies in Nigeria under the current administration.
