FG To Complete Port Harcourt Airport Terminal Construction By July




Sen. Hadi Sirika, the Minister of State for Aviation has assured that the Federal Government would complete the ongoing construction of the new Port Harcourt Airport International Terminal by this July.


Sirika also expressed satisfaction with the pace of construction at the international terminal being handled by the China Civil Engineering Construction Corporation Nigeria Limited.


He made these statements in Port Harcourt during a working visit to the airport to inspect ongoing projects and state of facilities.



He explained that the terminal construction had reached an 80 per cent completion stage from the 30 per cent the government met it when it came onboard in 2015The minister said the project was about 80 per cent completed , adding that the incumbent government met it below 30 per cent.


He said: “This is a very important project for government and we are here to see the progress of work and to see whether they are working according to time lines, according to budget, according to specifications and according to what is approved for this procurement.



“We are also here to see if there are any challenges that are genuine and need the attention of government. So this is a working trip to ensure that everything is okay and that the project will be delivered to the people. It is our hope that by July this year we will deliver this airport despite some of the planning challenges and despite some of the errors we have identified in the past.
