TRADITIONAL RULERS MEET IN PORT HARCOURT TO DISCUSS SECURITY




 Traditional rulers across Nigeria under the umbrella of the national council of traditional rulers will on Tuesday, January 30 converge on Port Harcourt, the Rivers State Capital for their annual general conference.




Top on the agenda is the recurring security challenges facing the country.


Briefing newsmen in Port Harcourt, Etsu Nupe and chairman, coordinating committee of the council, Alhaji Yahaya Abubakar says the conference with the theme “community policing as catalyst to crime prevention” will explore ways of tackling the current spate of crime and violence across the country.


The increasing deaths and violence resulting from the farmers, herdsmen crisis in some parts of the country will also feature prominently in their deliberations.
